Climate Summit 18: is it meant to feel like a summer’s day?

… Is it meant to feel like a summer’s day?

Last year certainly felt more temperate:

It’s getting hard to keep flooding at bay,

And the Artic does seem in quite a state.

Sometime so loud the voice o’ reason rings,

But greenwashing seems quite enough for votes,

I daren’t suggest that people change a thing:

Maybe just switch those plastic bags for totes.

Oh, our eternal denial shall not fade,

Our kids can work this all out later on,

These summits are nowt but a masquerade,

That we may say: ‘we tried to get things done.’

So long as flights are cheap and meat gets subsidies,

So long we’ll shoot beyond the ‘safe’ 1.5 degrees.
